Rabbi Shohama Wiener, D.Min.

Programs

"I attended a workshop on Meditation and Healing led by Rabbi Shohama Wiener at the annual conference of the National Association of Jewish Chaplains. I was very impressed with her presentation, her sensitivity, and her creativity. All those who participated in that session remarked on how they had been reached and touched on some deep level within their psyches. She empowers people to reach 'within' in significant ways." -Rabbi/Chaplain David J. Zucker, Aurora, Colorado.

  • Elat Chayyim at Isabella Freedman, Summer 2007, Hasidic & Renewal Approaches to Growing the Soul.
  • SHOHAM: Spiritual Healing of Heart and MindShabbat & Holiday Services at Temple Beth-El of City Island. Come experience the joy and fulfillment of Torah-based ethical development and spiritual growth through the process of SHOHAM. The Shoham stones were worn by the High Priest with the names of the tribes of Israel, and were said by the mystics to be vessels for bringing wisdom and blessings into the world. We will immerse ourselves in some texts concerning the ancient priesthood of Israel, and use meditative and interactive techniques to free us to do more fully our part in tikkun olam (healing of the world).
  • Jewish Meditation and Healing, the Mystical Way Healing in all the realms- spiritual, emotional and physical, will be the focus of our meditations. We will use text study, energy work, chants and visualizations to assist us in clearing areas of dis-ease and in bringing in the healing light of the Divine Presence.
  • Healing Ancestral Memory All of us carry subliminal pain, anger and grief from our personal and collective history. We will practice some spiritual techniques grounded in Jewish teaching that will help transform the burdens into blessings.
